7 things you should know before you go to the Masters

Weather

On average, temperatures during the Masters Tournament range from lows in the 50s to highs in the 80s. Wearing a hat, cool layered clothing and sunscreen will keep you comfortable.

Speaking of attire

Appropriate clothing and shoes should be worn at all times. After all, you don’t attend the Masters looking like you’re going to the golf driving range.

Facilities for the physically impaired

Facilities for the physically impaired are provided. For the safety of all, it is suggested wheelchairs or similar transport use the hard surfaced roads and flat observation areas as much as possible. The grass is often damp and becomes very slippery on sloped areas. Those accompanying a physically impaired spectator must also carry proper credentials.

Cell phones, cameras and electronic devices

These devices are strictly prohibited on the grounds at all times. Cameras are strictly prohibited on tournament days. Violation of these policies will subject the ticket holder to removal from the grounds and the ticket purchaser to the permanent loss of credentials. Why risk it? Leave them in your secure locker back at The 1018 Club.

Other prohibited items on the green

  • Bags, backpacks, large purses, packages*
  • Cameras**
  • Electronic devices – beepers, tablets, Apple watches, etc.
  • Weapons of any kind (regardless of permit)
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Beverage containers and coolers
  • Flags, banners, signs
  • Folding armchairs, rigid type chairs, stools
  • Ladders, periscopes
  • Radios, TVs, tape recorders
  • Strollers
  • Two-way radios

* Personal bags/belt bags/purses no larger than 10″W x 5″H x 5″D are allowed

** Cameras are allowed during practice rounds – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

Weather warnings

Keep an eye on scoreboards and message boards for the WEATHER WARNING sign. Insert sign here. This sign appears in advance of inclement weather moving into the area if Augusta National becomes aware of such weather. When the sign appears, you are advised to take precautions even before play is suspended.

The sounding of an air horn or similar alert will signal suspension of play. You should seek shelter immediately upon hearing the alert.

During periods of inclement weather, avoid the following:

  • Bodies of water
  • Golf carts
  • Hilltops and high elevations
  • Isolated trees
  • Observation stands
  • Open areas
  • Wire fences

Please, no autographs unless…

There is a NO AUTOGRAPH POLICY enforced on the golf courses during Masters practice and tournament days. Autograph seekers can give it their best shot in area adjacent to the practice range and on par three course during the Par Three contest. This is the ONLY place autograph signing is allowed.
